Fleet carrying accommodation for Curtis an impressive sight

BRUCE Highway users were treated to a spectacular sight on Tuesday when a fleet of trucks carrying $420,000 worth of portable accommodation travelled from Brisbane to Gladstone.

The six Farraway Transport vehicles arrived in Gladstone around 4.30pm with their oversize loads.

Valued about $70,000 each, the portable housing complete with air-conditioning and hot water systems were bound for a Curtis Island LNG project.

The transport company has been making up to three trips a week with accommodation for workers.

Drivers Corey Powe, Roger Innis, Myles Ravens croft, Ian McKeen and Stephen Francis were among the truckies making the epic trips from Brisbane to Gladstone each week.
