Five honoured for volunteer effort

FIVE local volunteers were recently congratulated for their valuable service to the community at Australia’s largest practical environmental organisation, Conservation Volunteers.

CV’s Regional Manager, Cassandra Jones, said the local volunteers worked hard to produce some fantastic work.

“We are extremely grateful for the fantastic effort by all of our regular local volunteers,” Ms Jones said.

“However, the outstanding commitment and achievements of the five local volunteers, who have clocked up an amazing 4640 hours of dedicated service between them over the past three years, also need to be officially recognised.”

Francesco Crupi has completed more than 281 projects, Lillian Midgley has completed 92 projects, Gordon Duncan has finished 83, Ray McEwan has completed 65 projects and Athol Snelling has completed 59 over his time.

Ms Jones said Conservation Volunteers valued and supported its volunteering culture, which involves real people on real projects which benefit the whole community.
