Fire crews on scene as blaze burns near Agnes Water

SIX fire crews are returning to the scene of a large grass fire between Agnes Waters and Miriam Vale this morning.

Officers estimated the fire had burnt 5000 hectares in the area around Halloran Rd, Mt Tom, near Captain Creek.

They were first advised of the fire at 8pm on Tuesday.

Crews will conduct back burning and other measures to contain it the blaze, which is largely inaccessible.

There is no immediate threat to properties, but strong winds are spreading the fire.
