Looking for love? Try speed-dating on Valentine's Day

THE path of love was never smoothly paved.

And it certainly didn't lead straight to your doorstep.

Proactive in their pursuit of romance, singles are invited to participate in Yaralla Sports Club's first speed-dating event, to be held on Valentine's Day.

Cara Hall, emarketing and communications manager said Valentine's Day was not only for those already loved up.

"We've noticed that there isn't much around Gladstone for singles," she said.

"We want to help singles find love too and provide a comfortable environment. Bring a friend, have fun and see what happens."

The private and intimate setting will host two sessions of speed dating; 18-30 year olds and over 30s.

Each date will last three minutes, and after completing a "date card" those individuals who have mutual interest in one another will be given contact details.

Register on 4979 8270 by February 12, regular dress regulations apply.
