Ferry's captain loves the harbour

GLADSTONE Harbour is different every day. Whether it be the tides, the wildlife or the unpredictable weather, each day is as different to the next as one fingerprint to another.

Captain Ian Fleetwood, skipper of the Curtis Endevour, said he enjoys the ever-changing face of the harbour and wants the community to come and enjoy it too.

He takes the Curtis Endeavour around the harbour, including Curtis Islands. "I don't think people realize how big (Curtis) Island is, or how much separation there is between where the gas plants and the township and the rest of the island," he said.

Apart from running the service to Curtis Island, Facing Island and Quoin Island, Curtis Ferry Services also runs harbour tours through the Gladstone Visitor Information Centre.
