Ferreira ready for anything on return to Reds

CENTRAL Coast winger Fabio Ferreira doesn't know what sort of welcome he will get from his former fans when the Mariners take on Adelaide at Coopers Stadium tonight.

The Portuguese winger, traded to Central Coast in January, has scored three goals from four games for his new club, including the winner against Melbourne City last Sunday.

"I don't know if I'm going to be booed, I don't have a clue but I'm going to go there and play my game," Ferreira said.

Mariners interim coach Tony Walmsley has added fuel to the fire, saying Ferreira was crucial to his attacking arsenal.

"The reality is that we've contracted a player that Adelaide was happy to let go. He is a key asset to us and we need our assets playing," Walmsley said.

Melbourne City striker Damien Duff has confirmed he will leave the club at the end of the A-League season.
