Driver dies after crashing into tree

UPDATE: A 31-YEAR-OLD man died instantly when his vehicle collided with a tree on Raglan Station road this morning.

Police and firefighters were called to the scene at 5.20am in Raglan, north of Mount Larcom.

The single occupant of the vehicle sustained serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The man is believed to be a Raglan resident.

Speed was a big factor in the crash, according to police at the scene.

Inspector Wayne Larkin said the accident was a timely reminder for motorists to drive to the conditions of the road.
