Runway to Runway Fashion Festival searches for models

TOOWOOMBA model Julia Watson is looking for exposure and a bit of fun in the Runway to Runway Fashion Festival and Model Search.

The 25-year-old said she had done a little bit of modelling for friends before and was encouraged to enter the new fashion event at the Jondaryan Woolshed during the Jackie Howe Festival of the Golden Shears.

"I thought I'd give it a shot and see where it takes me," she said.

Jondaryan Woolshed general manager Lisa Raklander said the event was a new aspect to the festival and was searching for young models and young designers to kickstart their career and be the face of the 2016 event.

"If anyone's got any aspirations to being a young model, this is the festival to get involved in," she said.

Mrs Raklander said the best five entrants would be chosen to participate in the Runway to Runway Fashion Festival Gala Banquet on September 4.

International fashion designer Wayne Cooper and Viviens Models will pick the winner on the night.

Entrants need to be aged between 18 and 35 and will win an introduction to one of Australia's most celebrated modelling agencies, Viviens Models. Local businesses Smoke and Mirrors, Ivy Designer Collections, Myer, Minx Contemporary Hair Boutique and Mirror Mirror Makeup Artistry will be involved in the gala banquet.
