Huge Boxing Day releases draw movie fans to the cinema

THE tradition of beating the heat and enjoying new-release Boxing Day movies tempted Gladstone residents on Boxing Day.

Jack Brown and Isaac Fallon got in early to see the much-awaited movie, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.

Both boys are keen fans of the Lord of the Rings series and Isaac, 13, organised his mates to see it.

"He came up with the idea to go see it on the first day it was on," Jack said.

"It's been really good."

Isaac has read the book.

"Some of the parts are like the book, but not all parts," he said.

Blockbuster Les Miserables was also released as was Parental Guidance, Quartet, Samsara, and Wreck It Ralph.
