Fans able to fund Homegrown Music Festival
SUSTAINABLE Partnership Australia is proud to announce the Homegrown Music Festival will return to the Sunshine Coast with the help of locals crowd-funding the event.
Homegrown is an alternative music festival designed to give local musicians a platform to perform and express themselves to a local audience and will be held on Saturday, July 19, from 10am to 5pm.
SPA event co-ordinator Amy Doran said the event had previously been successfully run by Lifeline and Uniting Care Communities for 12 years up until 2012, when they lost funding to continue the event.
"Homegrown Festival is definitely an event young people on the Sunshine Coast tell us they want to return, so SPA is willing to organise the event; however, the return of Homegrown will be dependent on funding from fans and the community," Ms Doran said.
Using a crowd-funding model, SPA is encouraging people to jump online and pledge what they can afford. The smallest pledge is $10, with donations tax-deductible.
