Family and friends remember shark attack victim Christine

FAMILY and friends of shark attack victim Christine Armstrong have paid their respects at a memorial service at Tathra Beach on the NSW South Coast.

Ms Armstrong, a 63-year-old lifesaver who was taken by a shark while swimming at the beach two weeks ago, was remembered as a dedicated member of the community who loved the sea, the ABC reported.

A sand memorial and flowers were left at the site of the attack.

Regional Surf Lifesaving branch president Tony Rettke said Ms Armstrong's husband, who was swimming with his wife when she was taken, had shown "incredible strength".
