PCYC creating awareness of violence through special day

GLADSTONE families will be raising awareness for a very special cause this Saturday.

The PCYC will host a family fun day to highlight domestic and family violence awareness month.

Kids will be treated to a plethora of free activities including a roller disco, mechanical bull, super slide, jumping castle and face painting.

A sausage sizzle and fairy floss will also be available on the day.

Last year the event saw hundreds of people meet to show their support in the cause.

The Act as campaign is gathering community support by calling neighbours, friends, family members, work colleagues and community members to bring domestic and family violence out from behind closed doors and into the open.

Visit actas1.qld.gov.au to find out how you can support a friend, family member or someone in your community experiencing domestic and family violence.

The fun day is supported by the Department of Communities.

The Family Fun Day will be held at the Gladstone PCYC between 10-2pm.
