Fabulous five to test the Sunshine Coast surf

SURF LIFESAVING: Five Tannum Sands Surf Life Saving Club cadets will compete at the Queensland Endurance Championships today at Alexandra Headland on the Sunshine Coast.

Competition includes long distance disciplines, ocean swimming, board paddling, surf ski, beach running and a surf boat marathon.

Jake Devine and Rhiannon Copsey are stoked to compete in a long-distance ocean swim.

"We are both endurance swimmers so this event will suit us," Jake said.

Kane Martin, Kai Devine and Oscar Wemmerslager are likely to power through the swim, sprint and distance events.

"I love the swim and board but I'll leave the running to the other boys," Kane said.

Meanwhile Tannum Sands Surf Lifesaving Club sign-on is tomorrow from noon-1.30pm. New members welcome.

See the registrar in the Surf Club Training Room (northern end) to sign.
