Australian Surfing Sports Expo first of its kind in country
IT HAS been an interesting week here in Agnes Water, raining overnight on a few occasions while the days have been really great beach weather.
By that I mean warm with a few clouds around, offering a nice comfortable temperature to match the refreshing feel in the surf itself.
I have seen a heap of surfers out there having a good time and some who are well on the way to learning, through a heap of learn to surf school classes over the school holidays.
Outside of Agnes Water and the local beach we love to call home, the big news coming up is the Australian Surfing Sports Expo.
Set to be held on the Gold Coast from February 14 to 16 it is, as far as I know, the first one of its kind to be held in Australia.
Over in the United States, they have one every year, and I believe it is a great idea.
It will be held at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre over the three days with plenty happening.
It sounds like an absolutely awesome place to be.
I wish I could head down, but alas, I will be at home.
Which is not the worst place, in fact it is one of the best.
As we near February the Pro Surfers will be heading back into the surf as the kids will schools, gearing up after a nice break for a March 1 start to the ASP season.
With that, the boys will be starting from the beginning, easing their way into the bigger moves and trying to then learn some innovative techniques.
I can't wait until it all starts, and if you get a chance get down to the Gold Coast for the expo, it should be a ball.
