EXCITEMENT radiated through Gladstone's rugby league community when the Capras announced four matches to be played at Marley Brown Oval - and now the behind-the-scenes work is coming together.

With financial support the biggest worry for the local association, a major sponsor, People Resourcing, has now made sure the games are a certainty.

The games will be known as the People Resources Intrust Super Cup.

The sponsor's contribution towards the $50,000 cost paves the way for Gladstone to see a high level of rugby league.

"In my eyes the competition is the second best competition in the world, so to have it is Gladstone is great," People Resources manager Dave Sweeney said.

"We want to give kids the show and show they can have the pathway upwards.

"We know they have struggled to get sponsors so though we would support it."
