And there will be a family connection where Terry Scarborough will race with (and against) his son Jamie in the Clubman Lites category.

"My son Jamie is coming down from Townsville and I'd thought it would be fun to have a race with him," Terry said.

"It's something I've never done with one of me boys and just have a race with him."

"Jamie came down and raced in the Rockhampton round of the CQ while Terry's other son Ryan hasn't done all of the CQ rounds, but he's done Rocky, will do Gladstone and will do the last one in Yeppoon," he said.

Terry added that Jamie will aim for a top-five finish, but he also suggested an ideal scenario would be a place on the podium.

"I'd be happy with a place in the top five and even the top 10 in that class because they're all young fellas and I'm nearly 48," Terry said with a laugh.

He said the Benaraby track has had some changes which is for the betterment of competitive racing.

"The track has been changed and it runs anti-clockwise now and is a completely different track and design," Terry said.

"It will be better for the future of it and the better design will help the younger fellas to progress."

Points are accumulated as they have been in the first four rounds with the overall winners to be decided on the completion of the final CQ event in Yeppoon from June 30-July 1.

Event spokesperson and timekeeper Kelly Baxter said it will be an action-packed weekend.

Some of the other Gladstone riders who will feature are Zac Perry in the Mini-Lites and two other classes.

Brother and sister Tyson and Kirra-Lee Baxter are others of a promising junior contingent keen to make their mark.

"We've got the likes of Mitch Alexander, Ryan Eden, Jake Valinoti, Jake Williams, Ned 'Dusty' Clem, they're all national riders," she said.
