Event about internet dangers

CYBER safety is a prominent issue for most parents.

When children and teenagers use the internet they may not always be using it correctly, or could be falling into a nasty trap when surfing the net.

A combined schools cyber safety evening for parents will be held at Gladstone Entertainment Centre on March 8 from 6.30pm, to explain the dangers that pose a threat to all children.

The program will outline current trends and aims to raise awareness.

The evening is suitable for all parents whether their child is attending primary school or high school.

It will be a great night with co-operation from many of the schools around the region, and the event will be well supported by the Rotary Club.

To register for the event you can contact Carol Shutterworth at cshut9@eq.edu.au or on 4979 9778.

If you can’t attend the event but are still concerned about the threats of cyber bullying and the internet, visit www.soso.org.au.
