European dream on horizon for Girl Friday

COURTNEY Neill has seen everything from Gladstone's night life to country living.

The 20-year-old is a hotel receptionist at the Hotel Mercure Gladstone.

Ms Neill grew up in the region with her parents and three siblings.

"Gladstone is what you make of it," she said. "The people here are great. Most of my friends from school still live here."

When she's not at work she enjoys keeping fit by going to the gym.

On her weekends Ms Neill tries to get away to nearby towns like Mackay, Bundaberg and Rockhampton for a change of scenery.

While growing up she enjoyed playing touch football, netball and soccer but finds it difficult to find time for them now, with a busy work schedule.

Her plans for the future include more travel and adventure, including a Contiki tour across Europe.
