THEY are literally the coolest rides in Rockhampton.

Esky Cooler Scooters are racing out of East St shop ESAR in the lead-up to Australia Day.

But office manager Tracey Clark said it wasn't just beach-goers and men who were interested in the handy scooters, even grandmothers were seeing the positives.

"We've also got women looking at it for gardening," Tracey said.

"They can take their gardening tools and water in it and not have to keep going back and forth.

"My children ride them and they adore them, and my husband loves them."

Since Toyz4Men posted that ESAR had the scooters in stock on its Facebook page earlier this month, 11 scooters have been taken home.

Manager Sally Johnson said they cost $800 cash, freight included, or customers could start a payment plan.

The 48L esky scooter can go up to 20km/h and has a 40km range.
