Employee injured after attempted robbery at bowling centre

A MAN has come away injured after an armed robber interrupted him cleaning at work in Kirwan, Townsville, last night.

A man with a knife entered a bowling centre on Bamford Lane around 11:30pm, confronted the male employee and demanded money. 

The two men struggled, leaving the cleaner with several shallow lacerations to his chest that did not require medical attention.

The armed man fled on foot, empty-handed.

The man is described as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander, approximately 188cms tall, with a proportionate build and aged in his 20s or 30s.

He was wearing a grey hooded jumper and grey three-quarter length pants.
