VIDEO: Olympian mentors Gladstone young gun swimmers

DUAL Olympic swimmer Meagen Nay was passing on her wisdom to dozens of youngsters in an ideal preparation for the Harbour City Swimming Meet on Thursday at Gladstone Aquatic Centre.

Among those privileged enough to learn from the best was Emma Hunter, 13, who is looking forward to applying what Nay has taught her.

"I've learned underwater kicking, dives and turns ... how to do them properly," Emma said.

The young star hopes to thrive in competition in the 200m freestyle, 50m freestyle and 100m breaststroke events.

Gladstone Gladiators swimming head coach Tom Fronek said Nay had been superb in sending the message to the prodigies.

"She has been very direct and has had the kids under control," Fronek said.
