Industry leader recognised at tourism awards

TOURISM industry leader Peter Gash from Lady Elliot Island Eco Resort has been recognised at the 2014 Queensland Tourism Awards.

Mr Gash received the Marie Watson-Blake Award for Outstanding Contribution by an Individual.

Lady Elliot Island Eco Resort was a gold award winner, receiving the Steve Irwin Award for Ecotourism.

The award was established in 2006 in honour of the late environmental and wildlife champion who owned and operated Australia Zoo on the Sunshine Coast with his wife Terri.
