Elderly woman freed from crashed vehicle at Buderim

UPDATE 11.30am: An elderly woman was taken to hospital after she was encapsulated in her vehicle following a crash at Buderim.

The woman was taken to Sunshine Coast University Hospital for observation.

She was in a stable condition.

EARLIER: Emergency services crews are working to assist an elderly woman encapsulated in her vehicle which crashed into a pole at Buderim.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services crews responded to reports of a woman trapped after a single-vehicle crash at the corner of Ballinger and Dixon roads, Buderim.

Crews responded about 10.40am and arrived at 10.45am.

A QFES spokesman said the woman was encapsulated but not trapped.

“She’s conscious and we are liaising with paramedics on the best method for extraction,” the QFES spokesman said.

He said jaws of life could be used to free the woman.

A Queensland Ambulance Services spokeswoman said the woman was aged in her 80s.
