Gladstone home to coffee company's third best barista in Australia
EIGHT different types of coffees in eight minutes was the challenge given to Gladstone barista Sara Senius at the 2016 Coffee Club National Barista Championships on Tuesday.
The Grand Hotel Coffee Club worker travelled all the way to Brisbane to take part in the competition, against three other of the Coffee Club's best baristas in Australia.

Sara came home with a bronze trophy to add to her collection, along with a $500 eftpos voucher.
On stage in the middle of Queen Street Mall four contenders stood waiting for the word go.
"Firstly we had to set up our work stations, including our grinders, make sure our extractors are working and all of our gear in 10 minutes," Sara said.
"I finished with a minute to spare."
The next challenge, designed to test each barista's consistency, was to make two flat whites, lattes, cappuccinos and espresso shots in eight minutes.
"I think I did really well," Sara said.
"I chose to re do one of my espresso shots because I wasn't happy with it.
"There's was quite a big crowd watching us, but it was a fun challenge with a good atmosphere.
However Sara said while she knows she placed 3rd in the comp, she still hasn't received any specific comments of feedback on her coffee.
Sarah said she got a bit of a laugh when her 7-year-old daughter told her she wished she got 1st place.
"It was pretty funny, but then she said she was proud of me. We went out for dinner that night and celebrated.
"I certainly have nothing to be disappointed about, it was a great experience and I'll be entering in the next competition that comes around."
