Teenage party goes out of control as road users terrorised

POLICE arrested eight youths with offences ranging from public nuisance, drunk in a public place, assault police and obstruct police following a large street disturbance at Kallangur last night.

The Courier Mail has reported that a family driving past was forced to stop as revelers jumped onto their bonnet and roof.

Several police units attended Narangba Road, Kallangur around 9.50pm following multiple calls to the Police Communications Centre.

A police vehicle was damaged when its rear window was smashed after two youths jumped on the boot of the parked vehicle while officers were dispersing the crowd.

No one was physically injured during the disturbance and police investigations are continuing.

A vehicle travelling down Narangba Road was also damaged after several youths jumped onto the bonnet while others kicked at the driver's side door, which sustained panel damage.

The occupants of the car, a 38-year-old Kallangur man, a 36-year-old woman and two girls aged under 8 were not physically injured.

Those arrested range in age from 16 to 20, all were males except for a 16-year-old girl, with the adult offenders due to appear in the Petrie Magistrates Court on February 17.
