Economist in city
ONE of Australia's most respected economists is coming to Gladstone and, for a region dependent on the resource sector, he has plenty to say.
Westpac Bank chief economist Bill Evans will address the Golding Conference next month, joining a plethora of industry leaders.
Mr Evans is an expert on the global economy, including economic trends and their impact on the Australia mining, construction and energy industries and future prices on iron ore and coal.
Those topics are highly relevant in the Gladstone region, where falling coal prices have already had an impact on imports from RG Tanna Coal Export Terminal and global demand for aluminium and LNG stand to influence billion-dollar decisions on major projects.
If you want to be part of the Golding Conference, you better move fast.
There are still a few tickets left, and for the RBS Morgan Gala Dinner, but sales close on Friday afternoon.
