Earthquake off the NSW Central Coast

JUST days after the New South Wales Central Coast was smashed by storms and massive swells associated with the weekend's East Coast Low, an earthquake has been detected off the coast of Gosford.

Residents reportedly felt a mild shake and Geoscience Australia has said the magnitude four earthquake occurred at 10:02am today, about 100 kilometres east of Gosford.

The earthquake was initially measured at magnitude 4.1, but was later downgraded, the Sydney Morning Herald reports.

The Bureau of Meteorology has confirmed there is no tsunami threat associated with the quake.
