
‘Drunk driver’ crashes into cemetery
A MAN is under police guard in hospital after crashing his high performance 4WD through a wall and into a cemetery in Sydney's eastern suburbs.
Police were called to Randwick Cemetery on the corner of Arden Street and Malabar Road, South Coogee about 2.30am.

They found a man, believed to be aged in his 40s, with injuries to his face and abdomen. His 4WD was on its roof and had damaged a number of gravestones.
He underwent a roadside breath test which allegedly returned a positive result.

The driver was taken to St Vincent’s Hospital in a stable condition. He will also undergo mandatory testing.
Officers are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash and urge anyone with information to come forward.
