Drug raid nets seven arrests

GLADSTONEpolice have arrested seven people on 29 charges relating to drug, property and weapons offences after executing search warrants in Gladstone, Barney Point and Yarwun yesterday.

Operation Crookwell was activated from information received from the public about people involved in the production and distribution of amphetamines and other dangerous drugs in the Gladstone region.

It will be alleged that a quantity of amphetamine, heroin, firearms, stolen property, cannabis and drug utensils were seized.

Three men and a woman have been bailed to appear in the Gladstone Magistrates Court and another three men were issued Notices to Appear in the same court in the coming weeks.

Acting Detective Senior Sergeant Nikki Colfs of Gladstone CIB said Gladstone detectives will continue to crack down on drug offences and drug distribution in the Gladstone area.

“This short term operation will be one of many,” Det Snr Sgt Colf said.
