Drivers start new year by facing court

A 28-YEAR-OLD man began his year on the wrong foot after being intercepted while allegedly drunk behind the wheel on Friday night.

The man was travelling along the Dawson Hwy near Herbertson Rd at 11:30pm when he was stopped by police.

He allegedly recorded a BAC level of 0.137.

He will appear in Gladstone Magistrates Court at a later date.

A Tannum Sands man will also front court in  coming weeks after he was nabbed allegedly drink driving on Friday at 9pm.

The 23-year-old allegedly recorded a blood alcohol level of 0.057 when providing a specimen of breath to police on Hampton Dr.
