Man unaware he was unlicensed after not updating details

A TRIP to the chemist has cost a Gladstone man $400 after he was found to be driving without a licence.

Justin Lee Priestley was pulled over by police on the Dawson Hwy at 3.25pm on December 21.

It came as a shock to the 29-year-old to find his licence had been suspended.

Priestley appeared in Gladstone Magistrates Court on Monday on one charge of driving without a licence State Penalties Enforcement Registry suspended.

He told the court he had moved many times in the past few months and never received the letter telling him his licence had been suspended.

Failure to update his current address left Priestley disqualified from driving for one month, and with a $400 fine and a recorded conviction.
