A DRIVER has shared dashcam footage of a crash caused by driving tired as a warning for others.

In the video, the vehicle crosses the double lines, veers across the lane of on-coming traffic, mounts the curb and crashes into trees.

The driver sent the footage in to Dash Cam Owners Australia as a "warning to not drive while fatigued".

The video posted on their page has been viewed over 80,000 times.

Many have commented praising the driver for sharing the footage.

"Well done to be brave enough to post this video showing your stuff up, a real WAKE up call for you and everyone who watches this," one commenter wrote.

"Well at least the driver was nice and alive enough in the end to send the video in. Thankfully no other cars in their way. Could have been much worse," another said.

Others have commented on the song playing at the time of the crash.

"Coincidental song choice whilst his falling asleep," one wrote.

"I'm sorry but that song is very ironic," another said.

The song is Chris Brown's 'Don't Wake Me Up'.

Dash Cam Owners Australia later shared a photo of the vehicle after the crash on the Facebook post.

The Mitsubishi - identifiable by the insignia on the motor - is significantly damaged.

The condition of the driver is unknown.
