Driver injured after trying to evade police

POLICE are investigating a single vehicle traffic crash at Main Street Samford Valley this morning.

Police attempted to intercept a car inbound on Main Street, the car did not stop and instead drove away at speed.

Police did not chase the car.

Police located the car a short time later, crashed further along Main Street, Samford at around 12.55 am.

The 27-year-old male driver is being treated for minor injuries as a result. 

Two passengers in the vehicle were not injured.

The three occupants of the vehicle are assisting police with their inquiries.

The Ethical Standards Unit and Forensic Crash Unit are investigating the incident.
