Driver crashes into a wall, collapsing it onto young girl

POLICE are investigating a serious traffic crash in which a five-year-old girl was injured at Palm Beach this morning.

Initial information indicates around 11.30am a vehicle was entering Nineteenth Avenue when it collided with another vehicle travelling in the same direction.

The driver of the first vehicle lost control of the car and crashed into a cement wall at a nearby residence.

As a result of the crash, a part of the wall fell onto a 5-year-old girl who was directly behind it at the address.

The girl was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital with a serious leg injury.

The 81-year-old female driver was treated at the scene.

Investigations into the incident are continuing.
