Driver 5x over drink driving limit, almost crashes twice

POLICE are in the process of charging a man, 37, accused of being more than five times over the legal drink-drive limit this morning.

A Queensland Police spokeswoman said the Cooee Bay man allegedly recorded a blood-alcohol content reading of 0.265% about 8.30am.

The spokeswoman said police tested the man in the Keppel Bay Plaza car park after reports he nearly caused two crashes in the area.

She said after being taken into custody the man became aggressive towards police, allegedly spitting at an officer.

He has been taken to the Rockhampton station and police are in the process of laying charges.
