Drinking session at camp site sparks a fight and a search

A NIGHT of drinking between mates at a camping site sparked a fight and then a chopper search for a missing teenager.

The RACQ Capricorn Helicopter Rescue Service responded to the police request at 4.25am today to conduct a search for the missing 18-year-old male at Colosseum Creek near Miriam Vale.

The teenager had gone missing after an altercation with mates but was found safe and well in the vicinity of the incident

The group were camping at Colosseum Creek but after a night of drinking the missing man and another person got into a fight.

After the fight the 18-year-old was put into his swag and the other campers left him be but when they return about 10 minutes later he was gone.

They searched for him to no avail and then alerted the police.

The CHRS was called and on arrival started a search of the area.

After approximately 20 minutes the missing man was found walking along a track back towards the camp site and the police were informed.
