Drink driver blows triple legal limit, left with hefty fine

FORTY-year-old Sara Duff was intercepted along Calliope River Rd with a blood alcohol content reading of triple the legal limit 0.165%.

She was fined a hefty $1000 and disqualified from driving for six months.

Matthew Weir, 28, was fined $900 and disqualified from driving for 7 months after he was intercepted by police on Yarroon St with a blood alcohol content of double the legal limit, 0.115%.

Jeremy Wright, 26 blew just over the legal limit with a reading of 0.055% when intercepted by police on Dalrymple Dr. He was fined $300 and disqualified from driving for one month.

Joseph Lilley, 36 was intercepted along Glenlyon Rd with a blood alcohol content reading of 0.082%.

He was fined $600 and disqualified from driving for two months.

Thirty nine-year-old Katrina Andrews was intercepted by police along Herbert St and blew a reading of 0.078%. She was fined $500 and disqualified from driving for three months.

Trevor Smith, 38 blew a reading of 0.061% when he was intercepted by police along the Dawson Hwy. He was fined $400 and disqualified from driving for one month.

Koby Mikl, 24 was fined $400 and disqualified from operating a marine vessel for three months after police intercepted him at Awoonga Dam, Benaraby.

Overnight, police intercepted a 27-year-old man driving a Mazda 6 sedan on Auckland St during a random breath test.

He blew .097%. Yesterday afternoon at 5.20 pm a 32-year-old male driving a Toyota land cruiser was charged for drink driving, unlicensed driving and driving an unregistered vehicle when he was intercepted by police on Lord St.

He blew a reading of .041%. Both will face court at a later date.
