Rain drowns major Benaraby bike meet

THE Benaraby All Bike meeting for 2014 was cancelled over the weekend due to the poor weather.

The largest bike meet in Australia was planned to be held on Friday and Saturday, but unfortunately the conditions were unsafe.

Central Queensland Drag Racing Association president Glen Williams said they had a good turn up despite the weather.

"It was a good roll up. We had people from Stanthorpe and Roma," he said. "We had a good night, but unfortunately didn't get to race."

Mr Williams said competitors still want to come back and stage the meet, so work will be done to reschedule the event.

"We are hoping to run it in two months,"

"It's pretty well set up. We have the trophies and sponsors. We just need to race."

The rescheduled date for the All Bike meet will be advertised as soon as a date has been organised.

The next event at the Benaraby Raceway is the Off Street Meet in three weeks.
