Douglas says PUP has no future in Qld Politics

FORMER Palmer United Party member Dr Alex Douglas says his old party was out of touch and had no future in Queensland politics.

"I don't believe the Palmer United Party will stand candidates in the next election," he said.

"I think the opportunity to do so has come and gone."

The now-independent MP made the comments on Thursday, alongside six other minor party and independent members who signed an agreement to block state asset sales at the next election.

Clive Palmer's last-standing Queensland MP, Carl Judge, quit the party to be an independent last week.

Mr Palmer's office was contacted for comment.
