Dogs and cats are looking for a friendly home

IT will be raining cats and dogs at the RSPCA Pet Adoption Day on Sunday.

There are about 40 cats and dogs in need of a loving home.

The animals are already microchipped, vaccinated and desexed (depending on age).

RSPCA member Lisa Warman encouraged the public to dig deep.

"A lot of these animals have had a rough start in life and they need a nice, loving family to care for them," she said.

"It's coming to the point where the facility is nearly overpopulated, and unless someone adopts them, there will be no room for other animals that need to be rescued."

If you are looking to adopt a dog, head to the Gladstone RSPCA shelter opposite the Power Station from 9am-noon.

For cats, visit 17 Pams Cr, Beecher, from 10am-1pm.

For a puppy under six months old, it is $350 or $270 for a dog over six months old. All kittens and cats are $180 with a discount on adult cats.
