Digging deep to help out Tracey
TRACEY Slatter has been involved in Gladstone Cricket for almost a decade.
So when the Yaralla Cricket Club committee member fell sick, the cricket community was willing to do whatever they could to help.
And help they have, with the Tracey Slatter Benefit Match to be held on Sunday, September 16.
When BITS Cricket Club president Nev Judd called to ask if he could name the match, between the Queensland Rail Bulls Masters and the Harbour City All Stars, after her she said it was very emotional.
"I was overwhelmed that people would do something like this for me," Tracey said.
Judd said the match was organised in recognition of Tracey's services to cricket and encouraged everyone to get down to the BITS Oval for the game.
"We hope all of Gladstone cricket will show their gratitude," Judd said.
And although Tracey said she and her daughter were looking forward to seeing Michael Kasprowicz in action, she'll be barracking for Harbour City All Stars.
