GLAMOUR and gloss, the rockabilly lifestyle is as hard-edged as it is sweet and feminine.

And 18-year-old Lainey McPhee loves the look.

She swings with the best of them at Gladstone Rock 'n' Roll dance meets, and loves old-school musicians such as Elvis.

For her, vintage finds and the style of dressing are alluring because it's for everyone.

"I love the fact you can be a really big cuddly-sized girl or a skinny nothing and feel glamorous every day of the year," she said.

Lainey is also a roller derby girl and battles it out with Gladstone team the Harbour City Hustlers under alter ego "Nick Rofilia".

Lainey and 22-year-old pin-up girl Emma "Candy Contusions" Johnstone participated in this week's fashion shoot.

Check the girls out in their vintage finds in The Observer's Weekend section on March 16.
