Have a coffee with... Acting director of nursing Deb Wright
WE have a coffee and chat with some of Gladstone's familiar faces.
Name: Deb Wright
Occupation: Acting director of nursing, Gladstone Mater Hospital.
Years lived in Gladstone: More than seven years
On a sunny Sunday afternoon you can find me ... riding my motorbike, just going places.
My favourite book is ... Mandela's Way, Lessons on Life by Richard Stengal.
When I was young my dream was to be ... a rally car driver.
My date to the Academy Awards would be ... Brad Pitt.
As Prime Minister my first order of business would be ... publicly addressing premiers of states who consider the selling off of public assets to be the solution for Australia's debt.
When I feel like splurging I … sit and watch two or three movies, one after the other.
I would consider my hero to be ... Nelson Mandela.
The best thing about living in Gladstone is ... it is centrally located on the east coast and is a great bike ride up to the Daintree and an easy ride down into NSW.
What are you spruiking? My role - it involves listening to people from within the workforce.
And listening to people from the community is a very important aspect of the job.
This helps to identify what health services are required.
To me, it is a fortunate role in many ways as it is working with people who actually care about people and who work hard to help them with either their health issues or those special moments of creating families.
