Dead girl's ashes remain missing

DETECTIVES are still pursuing callous thieves who stole the ashes of murdered toddler Deidre Kennedy.

Toowoomba District spokesperson Inspector Glenn Doyle said there had been no developments regarding the location of the ashes on Monday night.

However Gatton Crime Investigation Branch detectives continued their investigation today.

Police believe the thief gained entry to the house via a rear sliding door between 1.30pm and 8.15pm on Sunday.

Deidre’s mother Faye has pleaded for the safe return of the urn full of ashes which was taken from a chest.

Also taken were Deidre’s baby bracelet and a broach as well as DVDs, a laptop computer and some make-up.

Anyone with information that could assist police should contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

The thieves are asked to bring back the urn to Mrs Kennedy’s address.
