David Schwimmer has 'no idea' about reunion

DAVID Schwimmer has "no idea" what will happen when the stars of 'Friends' reunite.

The 49-year-old actor - who portrayed Ross Gellar on the popular sitcom - will reteam with his former co-stars Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Matt LeBlanc and Lisa Kudrow for an NBC special honouring TV director James Burrows, but he is unsure what he'll be doing at the event.

He told Us Weekly magazine: "I have no idea of what's expected of us -- I honestly don't.

"I'm flying in that day, so I'm just showing up. From what I've been told from Sean Hayes, we're all going to come up on stage and talk about Jim and give him a hug."

However, David is just pleased to be involved in the event because the director - who helmed 15 episodes of 'Friends' and worked on other shows including 'The Mary Tyler Moore Show' and 'Mike and Molly' - deserves to be recognised for helming 1,000 shows.

He added: "I just want to be in the room when he's honoured because this man has contributed so, so greatly to our country's enjoyment of television over the last 40, 50 years. It's lovely that there's an event that honours him. There are so many people that love him and whose careers were defined by him."

Matthew Perry is the only main member of the 'Friends' cast who won't be appearing, as he will be rehearsing for stage play 'The End of Longing' in London but David supports his decision.

He said: "He's working in London -- I'm rooting for him and his new play. I'm just thrilled that so many people will be there."

Matthew recently revealed he will still be involved in the show - which airs on NBC on February 21 - even though he won't be there.

He said: "It's not the 'Friends' reunion that everyone is hoping. I'm going to be introducing them from [London], because I'm doing the play here and can't be there."
