Dance in sand at Tannum hotel for NYE party

TANNUM Sands Hotel has been digging in for its preparations for a big New Year's Eve tonight.

Johnathon Davies and Isaiah Lofipo have created a sand dance floor in the beer garden for people to kick around to the sounds of The Mangs.

Owner of the Tannum Sands Hotel, Dave Akeroyd, said they were expecting up to 300 people.

"The Mangs will be here with just good rock covers," he said.

"We encourage everyone to bring in the New Year in their best beachwear."

Chontalle Biram said she would be working behind the bar tonight.

"It should be a good night with all of the Tannum locals," she said.

"I'm pretty sure it will be busy with lots of Bundy rums and Northern Brewery beers sold."

The pub has had to employ an extra 10 staff and will be running two courtesy buses.
