Cherry-Evans' Wikipedia page calls him 'genuine scumbag'

David Stuart

BACKLASH over the news that Daly Cherry-Evans won't be taking up with the Gold Coast Titans as promised has made its way to Wikipedia.

The online contributor run encyclopedia was updated early this morning to read:

"Daly Cherry-Evans (born 20 February 1989 in Redcliffe, Queensland) is an Australian professional rugby league gymnast who currently backflips for the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles of the National Rugby League.

"A Queensland State of Origin and Australia national representative halfback/Five-eighth, he won the 2011 NRL Premiership with Manly.[2]

"DCE is a genuine scumbag, leaving a club in tatters for more cash. Some say he doesn't have a soul. 0%"

The last line of the entry has since been deleted.

It was announced this morning that the 26-year-old playmaker would stay with the Sea Eagles until at least 2018, despite maintaining for weeks he would honour a handshake deal with the Gold Coast earlier this year.

Cherry-Evans was able to base his decision on an old rule which allowed the club holding the contract to make a counter offer up until Round 13.
