Dad turns son in for vile photos
A DISGUSTED dad reported his own teen son to cops after finding nude photos of a sleeping toddler on his phone.
Paul Spensberger contacted the authorities in their hometown of O'Fallon, Missouri, after finding the disturbing images on his mobile.
The two photos were of a two-year-old relative of Andrew's girlfriend and were reportedly taken at "close range".
Dad says he had no other option
Paul found them after confiscating his 17-year-old son's phone as punishment for ongoing bad behaviour.
He told the DailyMail he was "disgusted" by what he'd seen and felt he had no other option than to call in the police.
The worried father said he hoped the move would scare his son -who suffers behavioural problems -into changing his ways.
"He feels like s***. He feels remorse and he is scared, he's facing time in prison. I could go and get him but he needs to learn," said Paul.
"I don't know if I would do the same thing again now. I don't know what exactly I was expecting. It's difficult."
"Andrew is a thief but he is not sexual like that"
He revealed his son attends a special needs school where he claimed there are "twisted" students with an appetite for child porn.
"Andrew is a thief but he is not sexual like that," he insisted.
Police said Spensberger faces charges of "possession of child pornography" over the "inappropriate" pictures of a two-year-old child.
They said Andrew had planned to sell the photos for "cash."
According to reports in the US, when confronted by his father he said he had taken the pictures to sell to a high school classmate who he suspected of being a paedophile.
Andrew said he had hoped to get £250 ($AUD 430) for the photographs and needed the money as he owed it to others, it was reported.
