Magistrate to dad: 'Get your s--- together and be a man'

A WARWICK man narrowly avoided actual jail time for a drug possession charge yesterday.

Raymond George Alldridge was blasted by the magistrate, who told the 40-year-old to get his act together or go to jail.

The court heard how on February 17, police found Alldridge sitting on the side of the road on Wantley St, with a syringe and needle containing 5ml of speed in the grass behind him.

The Warwick man pleaded guilty in Warwick Magistrates Court yesterday with his little girl by his side.

Magistrate Bevan Manthey said he was knocking on the door of jail with his behaviour.

"I am aware you have a little one to look after," he said.

"You're not doing a bloody good job at the moment.

"If this situation was a little more serious, you would be facing definite jail time."

Alldridge was sentenced to three months' jail, suspended for 12 months.

"If you breach this you will get jail on top of jail," Mr Manthey said.

"Get your bloody s*** together and be a man for Christ's sake."
