$30 million of cyclone recovery assistance on the way

A LONG-awaited package of nearly $30 million of cyclone recovery assistance has been secured for the central Queensland region.

Capricornia MP Michelle Landry and Flynn MP Ken O'Dowd successfully secured the funding, which they said meant a significant boost to the region, left struggling since Cyclone Marcia struck central Queensland in February.

The funding package was in addition to comprehensive disaster assistance already made available under the NDRRA. Information regarding assistance is at the Australian Government's website http://www.disasterassist.gov.au.
